Depletion of natural resources and its consequent effects on the environment has created enough anguish in all regions of the world. All countries periodically interact with each other through various forums to create solutions to save the planet. There is now a global consensus on major issues related to the environment, and going green seems to be a common theme on which all countries agree. Several programs have been created in all regions to achieve these objectives, and regular monitoring and sharing of information among countries is a usual practice.
Going green seems to be the way forward. It makes sense to plant more trees, since humans have been cutting forests for several centuries to such an extent that many large forests have simply vanished by now. Deforestation has its own adverse impact on the environment, and planting more trees as well as preventing the cutting of trees seems to be the logical thing to be done.
All governments seem to have enacted strict laws related to cutting of trees. In some countries, if at all any tree is to be cut, a certain number of trees are to be planted in another location to compensate the effect of cutting each tree. Cutting of trees may sometimes become necessary if infrastructure like roads or rail etc is being created and a few trees may interfere with the route. Regular policing of forests also seems to have been enhanced to prevent the theft of trees.
The issue has been included in the curriculum of all junior schools, so that children learn all about going green from an early age, so that they become responsible citizens as they grow older. This will certainly help.
